1. Parents/ carers register with us by completing an information form

First we ask parents/carers to complete a form, to give us some background information about their child, including:

  • Age and diagnosis.
  • Communication abilities.
  • Address and preferred meet-up locations.
  • Special interests and favourite activities.
  • Favourite places and things to eat.
  • Specific needs or accommodations.

2. Matching Process

Families are invited to a range of different events throughout London.

Based on the information provided, we will put children together into small groups of children, using criteria such as:

  • Age compatibility.
  • Shared interests.
  • Communication and ability levels.
  • Geographic proximity.

3. Facilitated Introductions

The children will be prepared for the event through a social story with photos of the children's faces and where they will go, so they are all ready and excited to meet their new friends.

Parents/ carers will have the option to join a WhatsApp group, so it is easy for them to connect pre and post the event, and stay in contact if they wish.

4. Curated Social Meet-Up

A parent/ carer will accompany their children to the arranged social event, creating a supervised and comfortable environment for both the children and the adults.

Therapists and event helpers will join the group, using evidence based strategies to develop social communication skills, prompt positive interactions and ensure that everyone has an amazing time.
